Why does the workpiece get bent when using a hydraulic clamp?
The clamping element shall be mounted directly on the opposite side of the fixed support, hydraulic support or other supporting element. These elements may be part of a fixture, part of a rigid part, or a suitably sized floating support, such as a hydraulic support cylinder.
If your clamping element exerts a force on the workpiece but does not transfer it directly to the fixed support, it may deform the workpiece. With taper angle clamps or sudden increase in clamping force, the workpiece can also be deformed.
